NZQA Accredited Internship
INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (NZQA accredited)
Emmaus offers a one-year full-time internship certificate (NQF level 4, 120 credits) in partnership with Vineyard College. Interns enrol with Vineyard College but do their academic course work in face-to-face lectures with Emmaus (rather than by distance with Vineyard). We have two intakes per year.
When & Where
Emmaus internship lectures are held on Thursdays, 9.30am – 12.30pm at All Saints Community Centre. Each course has one final written assignment and there are no exams.
The following internship lectures are run for each internship year:
TERM 1 9 week block course- God's Story, Ian Reid & Pauline Simonsen
TERM 2 9 week block course - Exploring Spiritual Faith, Pauline Simonsen
TERM 3 9 week block course - "I Believe" Theology, Nigel Dixon & Pauline Simonsen
TERM 4 7 week block course - Understanding the Bible, Nigel Dixon & Pauline Simonsen
Interns also do 20 hours/ week of supervised ministry in their local church or Christian organisation. Vineyard oversees this part of the certificate. Your ministry experience can be anything from Youth or Children's Work to Administration or Sound Operations.
Vineyard College Course Fee - $2019 + Emmaus Course Fee - $300
Total Course Fees - $2319
Intern fees also include enrolment at any Tuesday evening Footsteps course at no charge! That's a huge saving of $360.
The $2019 course fee is paid directly to Vineyard College, and the $300 Emmaus fee is to be paid directly to Emmaus.
Student Allowance & Loans
As this course is NZQA approved you may be entitled to allowances & loans.
Tuesday Footsteps Classes
As an intern your fees grant you free entry to any of the Emmaus events, including Tuesday night Footsteps class and Discovery Seminars. We encourage our interns to make the most of these great opportunities to further your learning experience.
We have an intake at the start and middle of each year. We only have a very limited number of places for this internship program. Most years the NZQA internship places are completely full several months prior to start date, so we advise students to register early to avoid disappointment.
However if you do miss out, we have our non-NZQA Internship program also available.
