Was the Reformation a rupturing of the "bride of Christ" or a purification of the Church? How has the Reformation influenced your denomination and your own beliefs? What were they protesting against?

This first course of two on the Reformation/s will briefly look at the big picture - what was going on in Europe at the time: how and why did the Reformation/s come about. Who were some of the leading figures and what did they believe? E.g. Calvin, a brief consideration of Luther (extra notes available for those who didn't do the Eight Significant Christians course), Zwingli, Muntzer, Hus, Wycliffe. The Catholic Counter-Reformation.
