His Kingdom HIStory

  • All Saints Community Centre 338 Church Street Palmerston North New Zealand (map)

By Pauline Simonsen & Ian Reid

How is Jesus’ kingdom expressed in different periods of his Church’s history? This course will use five different themes to focus in on some key times in the history of the Church. For example, how is the theme of truth important in the time of the early Church, and the Reformation? Or the theme of social justice in medieval monasticism and 19th and 20th century Christian activism? Or the idea of beauty, and different expressions of creative human endeavours in the areas of art, music and architecture?

In this interactive course, participants will learn about some key events and people in different periods, and how Jesus’ kingdom reign can be seen at work in these periods. We’ll see how King Jesus makes HIS story known through history – and how he continues to do this today.
