Conditions of Membership for the Emmaus Library

Library membership

Open to all those interested in joining the Emmaus Library (housing the Kevin O’Sullivan Collection)

on payment of an annual library fee, ID (photo ID) and current proof of address (POA). Annual

memberships expire one year from the date of subscription.

Fees

A once- a- year TWENTY- FIVE DOLLAR ($25) fee is charged when a person joins or renews a

library membership.

• Currently enrolled Emmaus students are automatically enrolled and do not need to pay.

• Books will only be issued once all library membership conditions have been met.

• Payment in cash or to the Emmaus Bank Account 38-9008-0801444-00.

Using your membership

• You must present ID to borrow material from the Emmaus Library.

• A maximum of 5 items can be borrowed at a time.

Charges, email and postal notices

• Emmaus Library takes no responsibility for e-mail or postal notices sent but not received or read.

• Items returned or renewed after the due date may restrict future borrowing

• Replacement costs for lost or damaged items or any other charges incurred will be charged to the

person on whose card items were issued.

Please report as soon as possible

• Loss, theft, or damage of borrowed items.

• Change of postal or email address.

• Cancellation of membership NB where a library member cancels his/her own membership, no

refund will be given.

Suspension of borrowing rights may occur

• When a book is lost (reported lost or overdue by 4 weeks), library members will be charged a

replacement fee. Books sourced by library members as replacements will not be accepted.

• When an item is more than 4 weeks overdue.

• When charges reach $10.

• Escalation to Emmaus Trust Board may occur to resolve outstanding debts.
